News Flash
Night walk cancelled.
Walkers devastated.
Leader pressured to make public announcement of "SORRY".
Due to wet conditions, both in the sky and on the steeper rock slab sections of the walk (OHS, duty of care, and all that stuff!!), the night walk has been deferred to later in the year, date to be announced.
In its place will be a MYSTERY DAY WALK on Sunday.
We will meet at the Neil St car park for an 8.30am departure.
The walk is a bit closer to home than Girraween, with a total driving distance of around 100km.
Expect a pretty walk through a variety of vegetation types, with the highlights of the walk being some stunning sandstone cliffs and some excellent views.
Expect to be on the walk for up to 5 hours, so carry some nibbles for smoko and food for lunch.
Carry about 2 litres of water.
The walk will be mostly on forestry tracks, with a bit of off-track stuff just to show that we are bushwalkers after all.
Boots are preferred, but sneakers will be OK.
Make sure you carry adequate wet weather gear, because it won't rain if we are well prepared (heard of Murphy?).
The walk is suitable for less experienced walkers, with a little bit of uphill stuff to test our fitness.
