For generations, people have gathered at the Bunya Mountains where rainforest-clad peaks rising above the plains shelter the largest stand of ancient bunya pines in the world today.

What's special
Discover cool mountains with ancient rainforests, unique range-top grasslands, panoramic views, colourful birdlife and enthralling stories of times long ago.

Hopefully there will be something for everyone on this day walk. There are options for an easy day following some of the many graded tracks in the park with a challenging offshoot to the base of Big Falls. The Walks will be centred around the Pine Gorge circuit and the Barker Creek circuit. These are well formed graded tracks so would suit beginners. These easy walks can be easily extended to suit those who would like a longer walk of about 8 – 10k.

The harder part for those who are looking for a bit of a challenge is a bit of a detour along these tracks down to the base of big falls, which looks to be rather interesting”. Grading: Easy short walks S 33 Challenging section M 77
