Details Our final weekend outing this year will be to Fingal in Northern New South Wales.

This narrow peninsular between the Tweed River and the ocean is relatively quiet compared to the Gold Coast tourist strip north of the border.

I placed an initial flyer in the October Footprint for this outing. I’ve booked campsites at Fingal Holiday Park based on numbers taken at the last meeting.

Camping costs approximately $10 per person per night.

At this months meeting it would be helpful if I could firm up numbers especially with regard to whether you are staying Friday & Saturday nights or just Saturday night. I will also use this information to assist participants with car pooling.

Fingal is situated on a narrow peninsular between the Tweed River and the ocean just south of the NSW border. To reach it travel south on the Pacific Highway, cross the border & continue for about 8 km before turning left immediately after crossing the Tweed River. (UBD Gold Coast map 92)

Once in Fingal our campsites are numbered 23 to 32 on the western side of Letitia Road past the primary school. (UBD Gold Coast map 83)

The Giants Causeway at Fingal Head is the local tourist attraction.

There is plenty of opportunity for long walks on quiet beaches both to the north & south of here. If you’re more interested in swimming then there is a patrolled beach adjacent to the caravan park.

As is the tradition we’ll find somewhere nearby that is reasonably priced to eat out on Saturday night.

I look forward to your company for a lazy weekend.
