Details We will meet as usual at Neil St carpark about 7.45 for an 8.00 am departure.

Drive down the New England Highway and turn off to Preston, then follow the Preston road till Stockyard Rd, through Rockmount, then right into Kennedy Road, steep and corrugated, but ok for 2WD with care, right again to East Egypt Road for a km or so.

Along there we stop and walk into the scrub for a couple of km, mostly on old 4WD tracks. Since this is billed as a non-challenging day walk, we can stick to the tracks, and spend a pleasant afternoon. But if the group is feeling energetic, and want some off-track exploring, there is potential to drop down into Spinach Creek and explore up it, returning via a ridge back to the main tracks. If the rain helps, we should have some Acacia ( Wattle ) flowering by then, and other wildflowers.

The total walk will be about 4-6 Km, mostly on track, but with some lantana and other scratchies. Bring some lunch and water, I expect to take around 4-5 hours for walking and exploring. Rating about S44. Rock scurrying and scratchier if we go off-track.

Driving distance about 45 Km round trip if we return the same way.

It is also possible to continue along East Egypt road to Ma Ma creek road, with some good views along the way, and return to Toowoomba via either of the Flagstone creek roads.
