Details This will be the clubs first visit to this area, situated about 50 km. north-west of Glen Innes in NSW. It has similarities to the Torrington area being rich in flora & fauna, having a mining history and it’s elevation.

Expect cooler nights than we’ve been used to lately.

The camping area is a delightful spot located beside a large swimming hole in Kings Plains Creek. Facilities here are limited to pit toilets, fireplaces & picnic tables. BYO drinking water.

On Sunday I’d plan to walk off track downstream 3 km. to a waterfall and beyond. The creek bed is quite rugged sometimes so I’d grade this walk about S54.

We’ll meet at the Neil Street car park for a 7.00 am departure Saturday. The 350 km drive south via The England Highway to Glen Innes and then west to Kings Plains should take about four hours. This includes about 25 km of reasonable gravel road. It’s not a long weekend in NSW and above average rainfall has been experienced lately so this will be an excellent opportunity to visit this area.

PS. I can highly recommend a visit to the Emmaville mining museum on the way home.
