We do require non members, as well as inexperienced members, to contact the walk leader first to get their approval to attend the clubwalk.

Please advise the activity leader of your experience level in relation to the proposed walk. It will also allow the activity leader to discuss walk and other requirements with you.

Details The purpose of this weekend is for the walk leaders to try and finalize the 12 to 15 walks we will be offering at the pilgrimage we are hosting in August.

It's an opportunity for leaders to familiarize themselves with their walk so that they can not only confidently lead the walk but also provide a brief description of it so that prospective participants can make an informed choice. This would state walk grade (using the grading system on the back of the ‟Footprint‟), the length of the walk in kilometres and hours, special requirements, the length of the drive from the Crows Nest show ground to the beginning of the walk, points of interest, the maximum group size etc. A couple of photos could also help to ‟sell your walk‟.

Leaders who are already confident of their own walk would be available to assist less confident leaders survey their walks. I'd imagine there would be 3 or 4 walks being surveyed on both Saturday and Sunday. This will give those who would just like to come along for a walk plenty to choose from.

More definite information on which walks are being pre-walked will be available on our web site in the week prior to the preparation weekend.

If you would like to assist with leading or being "tail end Charlie" then let me know so I can add you to the provisional list below. Other walk ideas will also be useful.

Those of us who are spending 2 days surveying walks, may camp at Crows Nest National Park on Saturday night. Facilities here include fireplaces, toilets, "donkey" showers and picnic tables. It's best to bring drinking water. Camping costs $5 per person per night and can be booked on line or you can self-register on site.

We'll meet at the Neil Street car park at 8.00 am on Saturday and also at 8.00 am on Sunday. (for those who are only attending on Sunday)

Further to my May Footprint article, listed below are the walks that I am aware are being surveyed this weekend.

As you can see there are plenty to choose from, so come along as I'm sure the leaders would like the company.

Some of us who will be walking both days will be camping at Crows Nest NP on Saturday night.

Meet at the Neil Street car park at 8.00 am Saturday &/or Sunday.
