Start Time 7:00am from K-Mart carpark behind the Stenner St post office  Click here for map
Details Sundown National park is about 3 hrs Drive South through Stanthorpe and then South West 75km towards Glenlyon. Turn left at the sign posted Permanents Road towards Sundown National Park. The road is gravel from this point. Cross the gravel floodway and 2.2km from here cross the National Park boundary (Sign) at 3.7 km sign to the camping area.

Plans for the weekend include Base camping at the Broadwater Camping area with day walks to Ooline Creek Gorge and McAllisters Creek - Split Rock Falls available for the energetic. If you wish to base camp could you please go to the Qld Gov web site and book your own camp site. www.qld.gov.au/camping.

For those who wish to do a pack walk we can set off up river and see how far we get, find a nice campsite to spend the night. From there we could explore some of the many side gorges or head further up the river to Blue Gorge and possibly Rats Castle (although this is a bit fair distance). Not sure if you have to book to bush camp.

If you wish to rid the waterways of some introduced non-native fish (carp) bring a fishing line and bread or Dough for bait.

I propose that we meet at the KMart top carpark below the post office before 7:00am on the Saturday morning for a 7:00am departure to travel down to Sundown. Coffee on the way of course.

Sign on sheet will be available at the meeting.
